10 reasons I love Facebook

I am a serious Facebook addict! Thinking about that tonight made me remember how I've ignored this blog! So here's a list about why I love Facebook!

1. I can throw chickens at people.
2. I have found some long lost friends and have even hung out with a few of them.
3. I'm nosy so I love to check my news feed. I can catch up on gossip without having to talk to anyone.
4. When I'm bored, I liked to work on my Scramble skills.
5. It's easy to message a lot of people at once and not have to remember their email addresses.
6. I love seeing peoples' photos.
7. Gives me a good reason to wish people a happy birthday.
8. I have two different pet turtles.
9. I can share wacky articles I find by posting it on my wall.
10. I have gotten lots of my friends hooked, too!

5 Reasons to Walk

This year, the Fighting Reillys will be walking again in the Race for the Cure on Oct. 5 at Great Adventure. We walk in support of my aunt and grandma, who are both survivors.

I heart blogs

I just saw that Holly gave me this "award" for being one of the blogs she likes to visit. So I thought I'd share some of the blogs (aside from the blogs of my awesome scrapping friends) that I love with you.

1. Entertainment Weekly's Pop Watch. I read this one almost everyday while I eat my dinner at work to get my fill of pop culture news and gossip.
2. Romensko. Amy Kant's probably my one scrapping friend who knows about this one, since she's in the business, too. Jim Romensko's blog has daily updates on the news industry, which I read pretty religiously. Especially lately since the business is in such a sad state.
3. Matt Davies. He's the Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist at my job. He's hilarious. And I love reading the story behind his cartoons.
4. Ali Edwards. I'm a big fan of Ali. I love her style and her ideas.
5. Tomato Nation. I found Sars' site back when I was obsessed with Television Without Pity. I love her advice column and her takes on all things pop culture. I wonder if she still has her Girls Bike Club stuff up? Those are hilarious!
6. Melissa Thinks Out Loud. My friend Melissa has become quite a philosopher! You may know her Digi Pick of the Day blog. But her newest blog is more about inspiration and motivation, and she really gets me thinking.
7. Creed's Thoughts and Shrute Space. I love these Office character blogs. They are so funny and are hilarious insights into the minds of Creed and Dwight. Plus, they've been updating all summer, so I've been able to get my office fix!
8. What Goes On. This one is where I get my latest fix of Beatles news.
9. AbstractNixon. This one is by one of my best friends from college. I love all the clips and songs he posts, his rants about politics, and his writing.
10. Grey Matter. I can't wait for a new season of Grey's Anatomy to start! It's been ages since they've updated.

11 Summer Obessions

It's been ages since I've had a Top 10 list! I don't know about you, but this blog is looking freaky to me. I need to work on it some more. Yikes! But I was thinking of some new lists on my way to work the other day, and thought it would be fun to start posting them again.

So here's a list page I did about my obessions this summer - 11 not 10! LOL!
1. Bruce Springsteen. I saw him in concert this summer and can't stop listening to his music, which is my typical summer soundtrack. Badlands is my new favorite Bruce song.
2. Superheroes. Summer's not complete to me without some big blockbuster movies. I love Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man. I also like Hulk and Hancock, too. And of course, Dark Knight!!!
3. Stoners. I love the Apatow gang. I love their movies. I hate when I read about how they are guy movies because my sis and I see them all and laugh our asses off. Seth Rogen is def. one of my new heroes. He and James Franco were so awesome in Pineapple Express.
4. Olympics and Michael Phelps. I love watching that boy swim. Swimming and gymnastics were pretty exciting this year. But I'll watch any sport, reallly. Love cheering for Team USA, learning about random countries, those dramatic interviews and Bob Costas! Especially his interview with W. That was a hoot.
5. The Dog Whisperer. I could watch this show all day long. Love Cesar Milan. He's taught me so much about being a calm assertive dog owner. LOL!
6. Social networking. I love Plurk! I love Facebook! I got to hang out with my Plurk friends at CHA and my H.S. and college friends who I got back in touch with through FB. I've kinda given up on Twitter and MySpace, but I'm still around there too. There's always some one to talk to, friends to find, games to play, photos to look at. Great for keeping me distracted!
7. My cons. I wear my cons almost everyday. Even to work. I have gone through so many pairs over the years. I'm down to black and yellow now. But I just feel the most like me when I'm in them!
8. CHA. I had so much fun at the CHA show in Chicago. Got to hang out with my pals and make lots of cute crafty things.
9. My dog. This summer has been all about Penny. I never thought I'd have my own dog. But Penny and I are a good pair and I just adore her.
10. Coupling. I saw an episode of this British sitcom at a party this summer and I then watched all fours seasons on Netflix online! It is such a riot. And I totally love Jack Davenport (I even tuned into Swingtown to watch him!).
11. Vampires. While I still love Jacob, I'm an Edward girl. I can't remember the last time I read anything as obsessively as the Twilight series. I started Twilight and read all the way through to Breaking Dawn in less than two weeks. I don't know what it is - the writing can be overly sappy and repetitive, there are some big holes in the stories - but I just love the characters. I miss them. I read all the extras on Stephenie Meyer's web site, including the first chapter of Midnight Sun, and I can't wait for the movie now!

2. We have this weird psychic thing where we always have same thoughts.

I read this list to Randi earlier and she laughed, and then she agreed. :)

Well I never!

I was just reading one of my favorite sites, Tomato Nation and Sars lists all those "great" books and movies she's never gotten around too and questions whether she should bother.

So my question for you is what kind of cultural things have you always planned on getting around to that you never have or just don't care to get into? So who hasn't seen Star Wars or isn't into Grey's Anatomy or Harry Potter? Being the pop culture junkie that I am, this is a tough list ...

1. I've never seen a James Bond movie. (Not in any hurry either.)
2. I must have more than 100 books that I haven't gotten around to reading.
3. I've never been to a Yankees game (even though the stadium's right there.) Actually, I've never been to any pro sport events.
4. I've never seen any of the Indiana Jones movies in full. My aunt took us to see Temple of Doom and I freaked out at the monkey brain scene and she had to take me home. Still don't want to watch those!
5. I don't like Rachael Ray.
6. I didn't understand Brave New World when I read it in high school.
7. I have never seen The Colbert Report or watched a full Daily Show.
8. I never watched Six Feet Under until this year. (Now I am hooked. This is also why I have never seen 24, Battlestar Gallactica or Alias.)
9. I love Pearl Jam, but I still can't understand what they're saying.
10. I hate Titanic.

10 things to shake the winter blues

My friend Krista tagged me with a little challenge to come up with 10 things that make you happy and shake off those winter/post-holiday blues. And since I haven't posted a new list in a bit, I thought I'd post here! Share your lists too!

1. My pink razor phone.
2. Knowing I can go home and watch the tape of the new episode of Grey's Anatomy tonight!
3. On Demand. Love watching shows or movies whenever and not having to tape them. (Current addiction is Dexter on Showtime.)
4. Getting postcards in the mail.
5. Kisses from Kylie - my cute little niece just learned how to pucker up!
6. Seeing a lower number on the scale. I can't wait to buy some new clothes - I think I am down a size!
7. Peanut butter. I have some almost everyday.
8. Having weekends off. (After almost 9 years of working at least 1 weekend day.)
9. Coffee from Starbucks. (We have one in my town now!)
10. Hanging out with my nieces and Rocky. :)

Christmas songs

I love listening to Christmas music. A few of the stations here have already switched to holiday music so I've been turning up the carols on my way home from work. It usually helps me unwind. But I have to say, there are some versions of songs that make me crazy! I will always prefer the versions I grew up listening too - the ones my mom played every year on vinyl! Stuff like Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis and Andy Williams. Another thing that makes me nuts is the Joni Mitchell song River and all the versions of it. It's too sad for Christmas! So here's my list of favorite Christmas songs - a few from my favorite bands, but mostly old standards. Hope you'll share yours too!

I can't believe summer is over! This has been a really cool one, too. I haven't enjoyed summers the last few years, but this one really felt like one. :)

Here are 10 things I enjoyed about summer! Let me know about yours too!

1. MOVIES! I saw so many movies this summer. We went almost every week. And they were all awesome!
2. Bronx Zoo. Got to go there twice.
3. The Beach. I just love the Jersey shore!
4. Digi friends. I got to see a bunch of them this summer - Jeanine, Krista, Melissa G, Melinda & Gina!
5. Entourage. Has to be one of my favorite shows ever. Season 3 just ended with a great cliffhanger.
6. Dorney Park. We had a blast there this week - although my neck has been achy all week.
7. Swimming. Loved hanging out in Marie's pool.
8. My brother's new house. So much fun to hang out there! Great yard too for bbq's.
9. Dieting. You would think summer would suck with out ice cream - but I'm not missing it!
10. Just hanging out. Did so much of it. With my sister, my nieces, friends. Mostly at home, even, but still so much fun. :)

I saw Superman Returns last night and it was so cool! So that made me think, who are 10 of your favorite superheroes from movies, tv or comics?

1. Wolverine (cartoon, comic, movie version - love them all!)
2. Wonder Woman (I used to pretend to be her. Had a Wonder Woman Umbrella that was clear so I would pretend that I was invisible under it - like her jet was.)

5. Batman (Fox cartoon series and Batman Begins)

I am so happy that spring is here! Something about winter just makes me depressed. I am more of a spring/fall person. I don't like the heat or the snow that comes with summer and winter. So I thought I'd think up my favorite things about spring....

I am a pack rat. I keep so much stuff that it's just overflowing. Some if it is junk, but so much of it has sentimental value - at least to me!

A million bucks

Randi and I are so addicted to the Series of Unfortunate Events. I'm on book 12 now. I think these books are so funny and clever and dark, that they just can't be for kids. I've been reading a lot of so-called kids books lately. Here are some of my faves from now, and as a kid, in no particular order.

I was driving to work today and the station formerly known as KRock had a thing were listeners could send in their top 5 picks of albums they'd take on a desert island. Then the station would play music blocks based on those picks. So I started thinking which 5 I'd take, and well, I always over pack so I thought of 10.
